What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits, which is how a site recognises a returning browser. Similar results can be achieved with browser storage such as localStorage, or by combining technical characteristics of a device into a fingerprint.

This site sets no cookies

syncroworks.online sets no cookies of its own, and no third party is permitted to set a cookie through it. There is no analytics cookie, no advertising or conversion cookie, no tracking pixel, no social media embed and no session identifier. Nothing on this site needs to recognise a returning browser, because there is no account, no form, no preference to remember and no shopping basket.

Because there is nothing to consent to, there is no consent banner. A banner on a site that sets no cookies would itself be a false statement, so this page takes the place of one.

No browser storage, no fingerprinting

The site uses no localStorage, no sessionStorage and no IndexedDB. The one script it loads is served from this domain, is readable in full at /assets/main.js, and does three things: it opens and closes the mobile menu, it closes the navigation dropdown, and it highlights the current heading in a page's contents list. It writes nothing, stores nothing and sends nothing anywhere.

No fingerprinting is performed. The site does not read canvas data, installed fonts, audio characteristics or any other device signal for identification purposes.

No external requests

Every file this site loads — the page, the stylesheet, the script and the favicon — comes from syncroworks.online. Text is set in whatever typeface your device already provides, so no font service is contacted. There is no content delivery network, no embedded video, no map and no externally hosted image. Opening a page here contacts one server and no others.

What happens instead

The hosting provider that serves this site records an ordinary web server log for each request: the IP address, the browser user agent string, the URL requested, the response status and the date and time. Every web server does this, it happens before any page code runs, and it cannot be turned off from within a page. Those logs are kept for up to 30 days and are used for availability, fault diagnosis and abuse prevention. The privacy policy describes them in full, including the cross-border disclosure that arises because the servers are outside Australia.

Links to other sites

This site links to other websites, including vendors' sites and Australian government sites. Once you follow a link, you are on that organisation's site and its own cookie and privacy practices apply. We have no control over them and no visibility of them. Controlling cookies in your browser anyway

Nothing here requires you to change a browser setting, but every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site data, usually under a privacy or site-permissions section of its settings. Browsers also offer a private or incognito window that discards site data when it closes. Blocking cookies entirely may break sites that rely on them for signing in; it will not affect this one, which has nothing to block.

If this ever changes

If a cookie, an analytics tool or any other tracking technology is ever introduced to this site, this page will be updated to describe it before it goes live, and a working consent mechanism will be in place before any cookie is set. No cookie will be set on the strength of a policy page alone.
